Credit guide

How credits work

Every action in Junior draws on one monthly balance of credits, across every model, the Word add-in and Universe. Plan a month below, then look up what each action uses.

Plan a month

What a month of credits covers

The example is a typical Basic month: four patent applications and four office actions, plus the documents behind them. Choose your plan and change the numbers to match your own month.

Larger matters use more

About one application in four uses 300 credits or more: long specifications, large claim sets, many rounds of revision. About one office action in four uses 150 or more. If your month has several of those, there are three ways to get more credits.

Balances, roll-over and extra credits

Need more credits?

01

Add credits to your own account

Pay for your own overage on your own account.

02

Ask your company admin

Request more credits from your firm's Junior admin.

03

Use your firm's credit pool

Firms can purchase surplus credits and share them across the team or allocate them to specific users.

  • Unused credits roll overEach seat receives its plan's credits at the start of every month: 1,500 on Basic, 3,800 on Advanced, 8,500 on Enterprise. Credits you don't use roll over, and rolled-over credits expire after 12 months.
  • Credits lock on inactive licensesIf a license becomes inactive, all of its unused credits are locked.
  • Credit value is locked for 30 daysThe credits each action uses are guaranteed for 30 days at a time. After that they can change, so credits you hold longer may cover more or less work.
  • Extra credits don't expireIf you add credits for a busy month, they stay until you use them.
  • Background helpers are freeSuggested prompts, conversation titles, section matching, document-type detection and quality checks never use credits.
  • The examples are typical, not limitsMatter sizes on this page are medians across Junior customers' documents, 27 August to 19 October 2026.

** Credit amounts are subject to change.

Examples are illustrative and use typical-size matters. Your own usage depends on the length and complexity of each matter.
